Vacation Station: Camping and Caravanning

Women and camping is like oil and water, the two just DONT gel very well together. I’m quite the city slicker myself, so being in some bush without a proper bed or electricity is not ideal in anyway for me (and many others I’m sure). I did though find a resort that offers an experience that I would try out with my girls for a “ladies get away” sort of trip.

Nkwe Pleasure Resort

Nkwe Pleasure Resort offers a range of accommodation options, from caravan sites with or without electricity, to self-catering fixed caravans, cottages, chalets and cabins. The fixed caravans give you the fun of Caravanning – all you need to bring is your own linen, towels and food, but the caravan does come with amenities such as cutlery, crockery, small fridge and a two-plate stove. Situated on old farm grounds, just adjacent to the resort is a natural rock pool and waterfall.

The campsite itself is clean with ablution blocks in walking distance as well as a convenience store.

Rates

Start at R240 per night for two people per caravan site.
Tents are charged at R100 per person per night with a R50 extra charge per night per site with electricity.
Caravan hire is around R300 per night per couple.
A deposit of R150 is required and will be refunded when you check out.
The cabins are R900 per night for four people
The six-bed chalet going at R1 500 per night for right people (R250 deposit required here).
